Universal Ring Back Tone Enabled by Cirries Cipher

The URBT feature in demand for wireline, wireless and IP Networks

Plano, Texas (April 2, 2008) - Cirries Technologies Inc., today announced the availability of CIPHER Connect protocol and media orchestrations to enable universal ring back tone (URBT) for immediate deployment. Carriers can now benefit from the ability to have one URBT service platform to provide this feature across all of their networks.

Universal ring back tone service allows favorite ring back tones, sound clips, or music (instead of the network default ring back tone) to be played to the calling parties when the service subscriber phone is called.

Using a web portal, a user is able to choose or upload customized ring back treatment to callers for different call criteria such as calling number, date, time of day, etc.

The web interface will also store and manage each subscriber's ring back tone data and will be protected by a user based authorization function.

"The CIPHER components provide two core functions which are the legacy network protocols to SIP orchestration and the Media gateway control for TDM and RTP media conversion" said Phil Chiu, Cirries' vice president of product management.

He added, "CIPHER Connect provides the signaling and media orchestration, allowing carriers to offer a uniform URBT service operation to subscribers served by wireline, wireless, and IP networks."

The universal ring back tone orchestration feature is the latest addition to the CIPHER product line portfolio designed to enable existing or new applications to be network and protocol independent. This allows carriers and service providers to rollout services across any network, IP, TDM, wireline or wireless.
